Please let me preface this post to say that I’m not here to offend anyone, however I will always give the straight goods. I’m writing this post in respond to emails I’ve received and a Facebook post I wrote about values, priorities and excuses. You see it never fails, every time I’m about to launch a program, I have people writing in saying:
“I’d love to do your program, but money is tight right now.”
There is no question that when it comes to money struggles, I can relate. I spent years bartending part-time while trying to get Sexy Food Therapy off the ground. I’ve worked multiple jobs, sat on chair in my living to eat for almost a year while I didn’t have any furniture in my apartment. And through it all, I saw a practitioner because my health was non-negotiable. The couch could wait, my health couldn’t.
So when I receive these emails, I have to be brutally honest with you and say, it’s all about priorities and what you value.
People can easily spend $100 on an evening out, or over the course of the week blow through that money on non-necessities barely even feeling it. So when I put out another program that’s barely $150 when the total value is almost $300 (considering you’re even getting a personal consult with me), I don’t buy the excuse.
Let’s put it this way: if you were diagnosed with cancer (knock on wood), wouldn’t you make your health a priority then? Wouldn’t you do everything in your power to find treatment to feel better and to live longer? You would. Why: because it would serve the other values that you have that top your list: your children, husband, family, friends, etc. But the problem is until something big happens, nothing happens for many people and truthfully I feel it’s like living on autopilot. It’s when one day I have people walking into my clinic saying, “I don’t Melissa, suddenly, this just happened.” Thing is, it didn’t, they were working their whole lives to get there.
So what I’m saying is that to make true change in your health, look at what matters and what your top values are right now. How will it serve them? Will it create healthier children? Make you rock star in bed? Or make you look so damn sexy that you’ll be a magnet for ‘the one’?
For those of you sitting on the fence with The Damp Detox, here’s several things to consider. This program will not only help you kick the sugar for good but it will help you overcome your digestive troubles, PCOS/ovarian cysts, inability to absorb nutrients like iron and B12, yeast infections, chronic fatigue, acne, depression, weight gain, joint pains. What you need to realize is that is that investing in your health is just as important as saving for retirement. In fact it will help get you to retirement.
When symptoms of dampness are not taken care of, trust me that they can manifest into more weight gain, parasitic infections, severe arthritis and even cancer. So is it really worth sitting on the fence? What do you truly value?
