Don’t get sucked in by this.

Someone please, its not even December and suddenly I’m bombarded with Jingle Bell Rock and I swear it’ll become the Devil’s jukebox over the next month. Then as I’m safely home, I find refuge on Facebook but to be hit with ads about detoxing for the New Year. We’re told to begin writing our resolutions, but deep down we know that even though we pray we’ll stick with it, we’ll lose momentum by February or at best, March. So over the course of the next month, you’ll be flooded with all so I have one single message for you:

Don’t get sucked in by it.

I realize I’m sounding negative, but I’ve got reasons for my rant. Just like Santa, New Year somehow has it’s own little mascot – invisible, but whispering in our ears nonetheless. It tells us to manifest our dreams by resolving it through written word. It tells us to put down the holiday cheer and detox our toxic sins away.

But they got it all wrong and here’s why:

Resolutions don’t work

You might have heard this theory, but it’s true. We resolve to be thinner, fitter, faster, stronger, more helpful, giving, loving, etc. However this is nothing short of a fad diet for the soul that soon makes us rebound back to the wine, croissants and pasta that we swore we wouldn’t touch. Instead, we need to begin to start seeing January 1 as a day to start a lifestyle that we can keep, not a crash diet. So how do we do this?

On December 11, I’ll be launching the Enlighten Movement that will help you transform your body AND transform the world at the same time. You’ll be given individual expert attention and phases that will follow you along so you keep up passed February AND March. Plus with a special added motivational component to keep going, you’ll realize that when you do, you’ll be effortlessly helping to transform the world. Pretty sweet, isn’t it?

Detoxing is NOT a winter sport

I know I’ll get a bit of backlash from my industry on this, but damn it, I’m sticking to my Chinese Medical theory guns. Please do not detox in the winter – no exceptions and here’s why:

If you live in the colder parts of North America, you’ll agree that you could freeze your ovaries off in the winter. We bundle up and try to keep warm. When you detox, your body wants to naturally expel and let go. So why would you detox in the winter when your body’s natural inclination is to hold in while you’re trying to make it let go. Whatever your detox reactions are normally, get ready for your body to fight and for those physical and emotional side effects to be downright nasty. So my advice, save it for the spring.

So in the meantime, sign up to my newsletter and stay tuned, because The Enlighten Movement is coming up, which is about to change everything. Get guided and stay motivated and forget resolutions this New Year and join the revolution.

It’s time for a lasting change that both you and the world will benefit from.

Don’t you agree?
