Just get over it already.

pointing-fingerYou are officially single. You loved him, but certainly not enough to stay with someone who spent that much time at the office and came home smelling like perfume.  You cry, lose your appetite, maybe eat too much and somehow it consumes you.

You’re hit hard.

You decide a bottle of wine and a take-out is the answer. You wake up, sorely reach for your phone and notice a string of text messages that you sent out…at 2am.

You smack your head.

The weight of life can be so heavy that sometimes all you want to do is hide. You’d like to detox your stress but somehow you find yourself wallowing in it and your soul sinks into quicksand. You’re told to move on, get a hobby, life will get better and shit, just move on already.

Which begs the question how can you?

Allow me to provide you three steps I live by:

 1. Take time to lick your wounds

Yep, that’s right, lick em’ and lick em’ good. You see no one will truly understand or feel the depth of your pain like you do. And granted, there’s always a bright side but you just might not be ready to see it right now. So before you can move on, allow yourself some licky time. Seriously even set yourself a time limit for this task. Oh…and hide or lock your phone.

 2. Eat chocolate and not candy

I get that you will likely crave crap because I have in the past too. But set yourself a little rule and eat chocolate not candy. All the commercial chocolate is filled with more sugar than actual chocolate, so the benefits are null and void. Chocolate fuels your heart meridian according to Chinese Medicine, so give yourself some love with this incredible recipe.

 3. L-Theanine and shut it off

If you’re anything like me, your mind races when you’re stressed.  So instead of trying to self medicate with vino, opt for L-Theanine instead. L-Theanine is an amino acid derived from green tea and can be found in a higher potency in capsule form. It is not a sedative but simply puts the brain in the same alpha waves as monks when they meditate. There are no contraindications, so taking roughly 200mg when you’re stressed is never a bad idea.

Trust me when I say I’ve been there. It’s one of the reasons I put the Stress Detox together. In the little booklet attached, you won’t only receive recipes, but Nutrition and Chinese Medical key tips to help you get through over get over the worst of it.  Add on three webinars and seven yoga tutorials and you’ve got yourself one kick butt approach. And here’s the kicker: pay-what-you-can…no stress!

In the meantime, when the world is telling you to just get over it, I will partially but not entirely agree.  You see, the heart falls when it does, breaks when it does and mends when it does. It truly has no concept of time. But you can be proactive, and give yourself the tools you need and put away those you don’t need at 2am.

The Stress Detox doors for purchase close on March 24, so sign up and get the full details and get in while you can.
